Position Overview

Project Title

“Electrochemical Analysis of Structural and Battery Materials”

The selected Project Scientist will work in the Department of Materials Engineering at IIT Gandhinagar on research involving electrochemical testing, materials characterization, corrosion analysis, and structural and battery materials.

Essential Qualification

Candidates should possess:

• Ph.D. or equivalent qualification

Candidates who have submitted their Ph.D. thesis may also apply.

Academic Requirements

Candidates should have:

• Minimum 60% marks or equivalent grade from graduation onwards

• Minimum 55% marks or equivalent grade in Class 10 and Class 12

Desirable Qualifications & Experience

Candidates should preferably have hands-on experience in the following areas:

Electrochemical Testing

• Electrochemical Impedance Spectroscopy (EIS)

• Linear Polarization Resistance (LPR)

• Potentiodynamic Polarization (PDP)

• Cyclic Voltammetry (CV)

• Charge-discharge cycling

Materials Characterization

Experience with:

• Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM)

• X-Ray Diffraction (XRD)

• X-Ray Computed Tomography (CT)

• Associated characterization and data-analysis techniques

Corrosion Testing

Experience in corrosion testing according to relevant standards, including:

• ASTM A780

• ASTM B117

• ASTM D986

• ASTM G1

• ASTM G46

• ASTM G50

• ASTM G162

• ISO 9225

Candidates should also be capable of:

• Independently designing experiments

• Analysing experimental data

• Interpreting materials characterization results

• Preparing high-quality technical reports

• Contributing to research publications

Salary / Remuneration

The selected Project Scientist will receive a consolidated monthly remuneration of:

INR 60,000 to INR 1,25,000 per month

The final remuneration will be determined according to applicable IIT Gandhinagar norms and the candidate’s qualifications and experience.

Appointment Duration

The position is initially offered for:

6 Months

The appointment is temporary and project-based.
