The Indian Institute of Technology Gandhinagar (IIT Gandhinagar) has invited applications for 01 Senior Project Associate position in the Department of Mechanical Engineering for a temporary research project on hydrogen-enriched gas turbines and large-eddy simulation. Project Title

“Accelerated Large-eddy Simulation of Flashback Prediction in Hydrogen-Enriched Gas Turbines”

The project focuses on computational and engineering research related to hydrogen-enriched gas turbines, combustion, flashback prediction, and large-eddy simulation techniques.

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must satisfy any one of the following qualification and experience requirements:

Option 1 – Bachelor’s Degree

• Four-year Bachelor’s degree in:

  • Mechanical Engineering

  • Aerospace Engineering

  • Allied field

• Minimum 4 years of relevant R&D experience in:

  • Industry

  • Academia

  • Research institutions

  • Scientific organizations

  • Related technical services

Option 2 – Master’s Degree

• Master’s degree in:

  • Mechanical Engineering

  • Aerospace Engineering

  • Allied field

• Minimum 2 years of relevant R&D experience in industry, academia, research institutions, scientific organizations, or related technical services.

Option 3 – Ph.D.

• Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or an allied field

Academic Requirements

In addition to the above qualifications, applicants should have:

• Minimum 60% marks or equivalent grade from the undergraduate level onwards

• Minimum 55% marks or equivalent grade in Class 10

• Minimum 55% marks or equivalent grade in Class 12

Salary & Nature of Engagement

• Consolidated Monthly Remuneration: INR 74,100 per month, including HRA

• HRA Component: INR 17,100 per month, if applicable

• Initial Appointment Duration: 08 Months

• Extension may be considered based on:

  • Candidate’s performance

  • Availability of project funding

• The appointment is temporary and project-based.
