The Indian Institute of Technology Gandhinagar (IIT Gandhinagar) invites applications for the temporary position of Junior Research Fellow (JRF) in the Department of Biological Sciences and Engineering.

The Department of Biological Sciences and Engineering at IIT Gandhinagar is recruiting a Junior Research Fellow to contribute to research involving DNA nanotechnology and biological systems programming.

Essential Qualifications

Applicants must possess one of the following qualifications:

• Postgraduate degree in Basic Science; or

• Graduate/Postgraduate degree in a Professional Course.

Candidates must also satisfy the applicable eligibility requirements through one of the following routes:

1. Selection through national eligibility examinations such as CSIR-UGC NET, including lectureship (Assistant Professorship), or GATE.

2. Selection through national-level examinations conducted by Central Government departments and their agencies or institutions, including DST, DBT, DAE, DOS, DRDO, MoE, ICAR, ICMR, IITs, IISc, IISERs, NISER, etc.

Minimum Academic Requirement:

• Minimum 60% marks or equivalent grade from graduation onwards.

• Minimum 55% or equivalent grade in Class 10 and Class 12.

Desirable Qualifications and Experience

Candidates with the following academic background and research experience are preferred:

• M.Sc. in Life Sciences.

• Relevant experience in DNA nanotechnology.

• Experience in cell biology.

• Knowledge or experience in microscopy.

• Familiarity with DNA nanotechnology-related research techniques.

Research Responsibilities

The Junior Research Fellow will work on the project:

“DNA Nanotechnology for Biological Systems Programming.”

The research will focus on DNA nanotechnology for cellular and biological systems programming.

The selected candidate will undertake research activities associated with the project under the guidance of the Principal Investigator.

Fellowship and Remuneration

The fellowship details provided in the notification are:
