The Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati (IIT Guwahati) invites applications for an Online Interview for the position of Research Associate (1) under the project “ML4EDA: Next Generation AI-Assisted Chip Design” in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering.

Position Overview

About the Opportunity

The position is part of the “ML4EDA: Next Generation AI-Assisted Chip Design” project at IIT Guwahati.

The research focuses on the intersection of Electronic Design Automation (EDA), machine learning, VLSI and AI-assisted chip design.

Essential Qualification

Candidates should possess either:

• Ph.D. degree in a relevant area

OR

• M.Tech./M.E. or equivalent with at least 3 years of research experience in:

  • Computer Science and Engineering (CSE)

  • Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE)

  • Related disciplines

Required / Desirable Skills

Candidates should preferably have:

• Experience with Electronic Design Automation (EDA) tools and methodologies

• Familiarity with open-source EDA tools such as ABC, Yosys and OpenROAD

• Knowledge of Machine Learning (ML) techniques and their application to EDA problems

• Strong programming and problem-solving skills

• Prior research or project experience in:

  • VLSI CAD

  • Hardware design

  • Formal verification

  • Machine Learning for EDA

Relevant prior experience will be an added advantage.

Remuneration

Pay: INR 58,000 per month
HRA: INR 11,600 per month
Medical: INR 1,250 per month

Total: INR 70,850 per month

Appointment Duration

The appointment will be for 06 months.

Selection will be conducted through an Online Interview.
