The Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati (IIT Guwahati) invites applications for 01 Research Associate position in the Department of Chemistry for a project involving intrinsically disordered proteins, molecular dynamics simulations, and advanced computational method development. Selection will be conducted through an online interview.

Position Overview

Project Title

“Elucidating the Mechanism of Liquid-Liquid Phase Separation and Subsequent Fibrillization in Intrinsically Disordered Proteins Through Advanced Computational Method Development”

The project focuses on understanding liquid-liquid phase separation, protein fibrillization, intrinsically disordered proteins, and biomolecular behaviour using advanced computational techniques.

Essential Qualifications

Candidates should possess a Ph.D. in:

• Computational Chemistry

• Chemical Engineering

• Biophysics

• Biology

• Or a related discipline

Applicants should also have experience in:

• Molecular Dynamics (MD) simulations

• Enhanced sampling techniques

Desirable Qualifications

Preference will be given to candidates with experience in:

• Protein and peptide simulations

• Coarse-grained Molecular Dynamics

• All-atom Molecular Dynamics

• Enhanced sampling methods

• Biomolecular simulations

• GROMACS

• Other relevant biomolecular simulation packages

Fellowship / Remuneration

The selected Research Associate will receive:

• Pay: INR 58,000 per month

• HRA: INR 11,600 per month

• Total Monthly Remuneration: INR 69,600

Duration of Appointment

The appointment will initially be for a period of:

6 Months

The position is temporary and associated with the specified research project.
