Position Overview

About the Opportunity

The Indian Institute of Technology Bhilai (IIT Bhilai) invites applications for one Project Assistant position under the research project titled:

“Smart Energy Metering and Billing System (SEMB): Enhancing EV Charging Infrastructure for Efficiency and Accessibility”

The selected candidate will work in the Department of Electrical Engineering under the supervision of Dr. Shailendra Kumar, Assistant Professor, IIT Bhilai.

Essential Qualification

Candidates should possess any one of the following qualifications from a recognized institution:

• M.Tech. / M.E. in Electrical Engineering

• M.Tech. / M.E. in Electronics & Communication Engineering (ECE)

• B.Tech. in Electrical Engineering

• B.Tech. in Electronics & Communication Engineering (ECE)

Candidates should have sound knowledge of:

• Smart energy systems

• Power electronics

• Embedded systems

• EV charging systems

• Hardware interfacing

• Communication protocols

Relevant communication protocols include:

• RS485

• Modbus

• CAN

• UART

• SPI

• I2C

Desirable Qualification

Preference may be given to candidates with experience in:

• Smart metering

• Energy Management Systems (EMS)

• Renewable energy integration

• EV chargers

• Battery Management Systems (BMS)

• IoT-based energy monitoring

• IoT-based control systems

• Embedded hardware and communication interfaces

Experience Required

No separate minimum professional experience requirement is specified in the advertisement.

However, practical exposure to smart energy systems, EV charging infrastructure, power electronics, embedded systems, and IoT-based energy monitoring will be advantageous.
