The research will focus on Coal Supply Chain Optimization using Artificial Intelligence and Generative AI/Modelling, with an emphasis on developing technology-ready research outcomes.

Position Overview

Research Focus

The selected Post-Doctoral Research Fellow will work on:

Coal Supply Chain Optimization using Artificial Intelligence / Generative Modelling

The research aims to formulate and solve coal supply-chain and coal-data problems through advanced AI-based methodologies and to develop research outcomes at Technology Readiness Level (TRL) 5/6.

Essential Qualifications

Candidates should possess:

• Ph.D. in Artificial Intelligence / Generative AI

with

• B.E./B.Tech./Equivalent in any of the following:

  • Chemical Engineering

  • Metallurgical Engineering

  • Mining Engineering

  • Mechanical Engineering

Publication Requirement

Applicants must have:

• At least 3 publications in Scopus-indexed journals

Candidates should not have publications in predatory journals.

Experience Requirements

The position is open to:

• Fresh Ph.D. candidates, provided at least a provisional Ph.D. degree certificate has been awarded.

Candidates possessing relevant postdoctoral experience will be preferred.

Desirable Qualifications

Preference will be given to candidates with:

• Relevant research or industrial experience in Advanced AI

• Experience in Generative Modelling

• Research exposure to clean coal technologies

• Experience with optimization and data-driven modelling

• Strong academic record throughout

• Good scientific and technical writing skills

• Strong communication and teamwork abilities

Key Responsibilities

The selected Post-Doctoral Research Fellow will be expected to:

• Develop a definite research product/outcome at TRL 5/6

• Formulate and solve Coal Supply Chain Optimization problems using AI

• Develop Generative Modelling approaches for coal data

• Review relevant scientific and technical literature

• Coordinate research activities with the project team

• Prepare research and technical reports

• Write research articles and manuscripts

• Support laboratory management

• Interact with sponsoring agencies

• Travel for project execution, if required

Fellowship

The consolidated monthly fellowship will range from:

INR 75,400 to INR 79,300 per month

The amount:

• Includes HRA

• Will be determined based on the candidate’s postdoctoral experience

Duration of Appointment

The appointment will initially be for:

1 Year

Extension may be considered based on:

• Performance of the selected candidate

• Review process

• Project requirements
