The Indian Institute of Science Education and Research Tirupati (IISER Tirupati) invites applications from eligible Indian nationals for the position of Research Associate-I (RA-I) under an ANRF-funded research project focused on chiral plasmonic nanostructures and nanomaterials.

The position is temporary and offered on a contractual basis.

Position Overview

About the Opportunity

IISER Tirupati is recruiting a Research Associate-I to contribute to an ANRF-supported research project investigating optical activity in intrinsically chiral plasmonic nanostructures.

The research involves experimental and theoretical investigations of chiral molecules and nanomaterials, with particular emphasis on nanoscale design and enantioselective applications.

Essential Qualifications

Applicants must meet the following requirements:

• Ph.D. degree in Chemistry or a related subject.

• Candidates who have submitted their Ph.D. thesis and are awaiting the award of their degree may also apply.

• Candidates must provide evidence of having conducted high-quality research during or after their Ph.D. programme.

Desirable Qualifications

Preference will be given to candidates with experience in:

• Plasmonic, inorganic and organic nanomaterial synthesis and characterization.

• Photophysical and chiroptical investigations.

• Theoretical simulations.

Fellowship / Monthly Remuneration

Category 1: Candidates with a Ph.D. Degree

• Monthly Fellowship: INR 58,000

• HRA: 10%

• Applicable when the candidate produces the Ph.D. degree certificate.

Category 2: Candidates Awaiting Ph.D. Degree

• Monthly Fellowship: INR 42,000

• HRA: 10%

• Candidates must provide a letter from a competent authority confirming that the thesis has been submitted and the final viva/defence is pending.

• A nominal research grant will be available during this programme.

Appointment Duration

• Initial Tenure: One year.

• Extension: Six months after performance review.

• Nature of Appointment: Temporary and contractual.

Age Limit

The applicant should be not more than 35 years old as of the advertisement's closing date.
