Junior Research Fellow / Project Associate-I Recruitment 2026 at IISER Tirupati – ISRO-LEOS Funded Project

The Indian Institute of Science Education and Research Tirupati (IISER Tirupati) invites applications from eligible Indian nationals for the position of Junior Research Fellow (JRF) / Project Associate-I under an ISRO–Laboratory for Electro-Optics Systems (LEOS) funded research project. The appointment is purely contractual and temporary.

Position Overview

Project Title

Development of Bio-Molecular Films for Characterization of UV-Induced Macromolecular Damage in Space Environment

The project involves interdisciplinary research at the interface of biology, molecular science, physics and space-environment studies, with a focus on understanding UV-induced damage to biological macromolecules.

Essential Qualifications

Candidates should possess:

• Master’s Degree in Biology, Physics, or a related field

Desirable Qualifications

Preference will be given to candidates having practical experience in basic molecular and cellular biology techniques, including:

• PCR

• Cloning

• qRT-PCR

• Working with model organisms such as Drosophila

Fellowship / Monthly Emoluments

Category I

INR 37,000 per month + 10% HRA

Applicable to candidates selected through:

• CSIR/UGC-NET, including Lectureship/Assistant Professorship

• GATE

• National-level examinations conducted by Central Government departments and their agencies/institutions

Category II

INR 30,000 per month + 10% HRA

Applicable to candidates who do not fall under Category I.

Age Limit

The candidate should be not more than 30 years of age as on the closing date of the advertisement.

Tenure

The initial appointment will be for one year.

The position may be renewed subject to:

• Satisfactory performance

• Project requirements

• Availability/continuation of the project

The position is temporary and co-terminus with the project.
