Indian Institute of Science Education and Research Tirupati (IISER Tirupati) invites applications from Indian nationals for one Project Scientist-I position under a research project in Quantum Algorithms. The appointment is purely on a contract basis.

Position Overview

Project Title

Quantum Annealing and Optimization: Mobility, Multi-modal Logistics, Railway Resource Scheduling and Related Problems

The research area for the position is Quantum Algorithms.

Minimum Qualification

Candidates should possess:

• Ph.D. degree in Quantum Many-body Physics (Theory)

• Evidence of having conducted high-quality research during or after the Ph.D. programme

Desirable Qualifications & Experience

Experience in computational approaches in quantum many-body physics is desirable, including:

• Exact-diagonalization

• Tensor-Network methods

• Quantum Monte Carlo

• Quantum computing

• Optimization methods

Fellowship

INR 77,000 per month + 9% HRA

The stated fellowship is applicable if the candidate produces the Ph.D. certificate.

Tenure

The position is initially temporary for one year.

It may be extended for one additional year after performance review, with a maximum tenure of up to three years.

Age Limit

Candidates should be not more than 35 years of age as on the closing date of the advertisement.

Nature of Appointment

The position is offered purely on a contract basis under the specified research project.
