Position Overview

Project Title

“Investigating the molecular intricacies underlying the light dependent developmental switch (dual fate) of a stolon to either a shoot or a tuber in potato (Solanum tuberosum)”

The selected candidate will work on an ANRF-funded research project focused on understanding the molecular mechanisms governing developmental transitions in potato.

Essential Qualification

Candidates should possess a Master’s Degree in any of the following areas:

• Natural Sciences

• Biotechnology

• Microbiology

• Agricultural Sciences

• Other relevant/equivalent disciplines

Candidates must have:

• Minimum 65% marks, or

• Equivalent CGPA / grade points

from a recognized university or equivalent institution.

Desirable Qualification / Experience

Candidates should preferably have:

• At least 6 months of relevant laboratory work experience

• Research experience in an R&D or academic institution

Preferred Research Experience

Preference will be given to candidates with experience in:

• Plant Molecular Biology

• Recombinant DNA Technology

• Molecular Cloning

• Plant Transformation

• Plant Tissue Culture Techniques
