Indian Institute of Science Education and Research Bhopal (IISER Bhopal) invites applications from Indian nationals for the position of Project Associate-II in the Department of Biological Sciences under an ANRF-funded research project. The appointment is initially for one year, subject to satisfactory performance and availability of funds.

Position Overview

Project Title

Functional dissection of SERINC5-associated regulatory network in viral infection

The research project is funded by the Anusandhan National Research Foundation (ANRF).

Essential Qualification

Applicants should possess:

• A four-year Bachelor’s degree in Natural Sciences, OR

• A four-year Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Technology or Medicine, OR

• A Master’s degree in Natural Sciences / Life Sciences from a recognized university/institution

Candidates should also have:

• At least 2 years of R&D experience in academic institutions or science and technology organizations

Desirable Qualifications & Research Experience

Preference will be given to candidates with:

• Knowledge of the functioning of a pathogenic virus research lab

• Proficiency in techniques such as:

  • Mammalian cell culture

  • Gene expression analysis

  • Primary cell isolation and culture

  • Immunological assays

  • Proteomic analysis

Salary & HRA

National-Level Examination Qualified Candidates

INR 35,000 per month + HRA

Applicable to candidates who have qualified:

• CSIR-UGC NET, including Lectureship / Assistant Professorship

• GATE

• Selection through national-level examinations conducted by Central Government departments and their agencies/institutions

Other Eligible Candidates

INR 28,000 per month + HRA

If residential accommodation is not available, HRA at 18% will be admissible.

Appointment Duration

The initial appointment will be for one year, subject to:

• Satisfactory performance

• Availability of funds

Age Limit

Maximum Age: 30 years for general candidates as on the date of application.

Age relaxation:

• 5 years for SC/ST candidates

• 5 years for Persons with Physical Disability

Selection Process

• Only shortlisted candidates will be called for an interview by email.

• No TA/DA will be paid for appearing in the interview.

• The selected candidate is expected to join immediately.
