Position Overview

About the Opportunity

The Department of Biological Sciences at IISER Bhopal is seeking a Project Associate II to contribute to an ANRF-funded research project focused on understanding the SERINC5-associated regulatory network in viral infection.

The position requires candidates with a strong background in biological sciences and relevant research experience.

Essential Qualification

Applicants should have:

• A four-year Bachelor’s degree in Natural Sciences; or

• A four-year Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Technology or Medicine; or

• A Master’s degree in Natural Sciences/Life Sciences from a recognised university/institution.

• At least two years of experience in R&D in academic institutions or Science and Technology organisations.

Preferred Research Experience

Knowledge of the functioning of a pathogenic virus research laboratory is preferred.

Experience in techniques such as the following will be an advantage:

• Mammalian cell culture

• Gene expression analysis

• Primary cell isolation and culture

• Immunological assays

• Proteomic analysis

Salary / Emoluments

Project Associate II – Qualified National Eligibility Test Candidates

INR 35,000 per month + HRA at 18%

Applicable to candidates who have qualified national eligibility tests such as CSIR-UGC NET including Lectureship (Assistant Professorship), GATE, or equivalent national-level examinations conducted by Central Government departments and agencies.

Project Associate II – Other Candidates

INR 28,000 per month + HRA at 18%

Applicable to candidates who have not qualified for the above-mentioned national eligibility examinations.

Appointment Duration

The appointment will initially be for one year, subject to satisfactory performance and availability of funds, or until the end of the project, whichever is earlier.
