The Indian Institute of Science Education and Research Bhopal (IISER Bhopal) has invited applications from Indian nationals for 01 Junior Research Fellow (JRF) position in the Department of Chemistry under an ANRF, Government of India-funded research project. “Enantioselective Remote Functionalization: A Unified Platform for Collective Total Synthesis of Various Alkaloid and Terpenoid Natural Products and Bis-Spirofluorenes for Chiroptical Properties and Applications as OLED Materials.”

The project involves advanced research in organic synthesis, enantioselective functionalization, natural product synthesis, chiroptical materials, and OLED-related molecular systems.

Eligibility Criteria

Candidates applying for the Junior Research Fellow position should possess:

• M.Sc. degree in Chemistry

• First Class academic record

• Specialization in Organic Chemistry is compulsory

• Valid qualification in any of the following:

  • CSIR-NET JRF

  • UGC-NET JRF

  • NET-LS

  • GATE

Candidates should meet all prescribed academic and national-level examination requirements before applying.

Preferred Experience

Preference will be given to candidates having:

• Research experience in Organic Chemistry

• Exposure to synthetic organic chemistry

• Experience in laboratory-based chemical research

• Familiarity with advanced organic synthesis techniques

Some form of prior research experience is preferred.

Salary & Nature of Engagement

• Position: Junior Research Fellow (JRF)

• Salary: INR 37,000 per month

• HRA: As applicable

• Initial Duration: 12 Months

• The appointment may be extended subject to evaluation of the candidate’s performance.

• The position is temporary and linked to the ANRF-funded research project.
