The Indian Institute of Management Amritsar (IIM Amritsar) has invited online applications from eligible Indian citizens for engagement as Research Assistant under institute-sponsored research projects.

The appointment is purely temporary and project-based, with a consolidated remuneration of INR 25,000 per month.

Position Overview

Research Projects

The Research Assistant engagement is associated with institute-sponsored research projects including:

1. Entrepreneurs’ Survival and Resilience in Economic Crisis

Project Title:
Entrepreneurs’ Survival and Resilience in Economic Crisis: Role of Family’s Past Experience in Product Market and Capital Market

The project involves research relating to entrepreneurship, family experience, economic crises, product markets and capital markets.

2. SARBAT-GIG

Project Title:
SARBAT-GIG: Socioeconomic, Algorithmic, Risk & Benefits Assessment and Transition of Platform Work in Punjab

The project focuses on socioeconomic and algorithmic dimensions, risks, benefits and transition issues associated with platform work in Punjab.

Essential Qualification

Candidates should possess a Bachelor’s Degree with an excellent academic record in any of the following areas:

• Management

• Economics

• Statistics

• Psychology

• Sociology

• Public Policy

• Commerce

• Engineering

• Data Analytics

• Related disciplines

Experience

• Relevant experience: 0–2 Years

• Candidates having a minimum of 1 year of experience will be preferred.

Desirable Skills

Preference will be given to candidates possessing skills in:

• Literature review

• Data collection

• Data cleaning

• Data processing

• Qualitative research

• Excellent interpersonal skills

• Interviewing skills

• Qualitative data management and analysis

Candidates should preferably have proficiency in software/tools such as:

• NVivo

• ATLAS.ti

• AI-based research tools

• Other relevant qualitative data analysis software

Roles & Responsibilities

The selected Research Assistant may be required to:

• Work on qualitative research in social sciences, particularly field interviews.

• Assist in analysing and interpreting qualitative data in management accounting research.

• Travel to different locations across India for field research and data collection.

• Support research documentation, data processing and analysis activities.

• Assist the research team with project-related academic and fieldwork requirements.

Salary / Remuneration

The selected candidate will receive:

INR 25,000 per month (Consolidated)

The appointment is purely project-based and does not provide any right to regular employment at IIM Amritsar.

Age Limit

• Maximum Age: 35 Years as on the closing date of application.

Age relaxation will be applicable as per Government of India norms, wherever applicable.
