About the Opportunity

Predoctoral Research Assistants will work with various Principal Investigators on empirical research projects. The role offers hands-on exposure to economic modelling, data analysis, research design, and academic research.

Selected candidates will work on assembling and cleaning large datasets, conducting regression analysis, estimating choice models, and carrying out data-driven research.

The position is particularly relevant for candidates interested in gaining strong research experience before applying to PhD programmes in economics or related disciplines.

Qualifications

• Comfort with programming in Stata, R, or Python.

• Interest in energy, environmental, or urban economics is expected.

Experience with discrete choice models or other structural methods would be appreciated.

Responsibilities

• Conduct empirical research using econometric and computational techniques.

• Work with large-scale administrative, household, and survey datasets.

• Contribute to academic publications and policy reports arising from research projects.

• Present research findings in seminars and workshops.

Selection Process

Shortlisted applicants will be tested on the abilities required for the position.

Candidates selected for the final stage will be interviewed.

Tenure

The initial appointment will be for 11 months, subject to satisfactory progress.

There may be a possibility of extension based on performance and future opportunities.

Compensation

Compensation: As per IIMA norms.
