Overview of Role

The India Gold Policy Centre (IGPC) at IIM Ahmedabad is an academic research-based think tank focused on India's gold economy and related businesses.

Key Responsibilities

The selected candidate will be responsible for:

• Engaging with stakeholders across the gold value chain.

• Bringing together academic research at IIMA with industry requirements and policy advisory.

• Proactively engaging with policymakers, ministries and regulators.

• Staying updated on technical developments and market dynamics.

• Developing new research initiatives involving IIMA's academic resources.

• Acting as an effective link between:

  • Industry stakeholders

  • Policymakers

  • Regulators

  • Gold producers

  • Gold product manufacturers and distributors

  • Gold consumers

  • IIMA academic community

• Participating in information exchanges, meetings, conferences and related industry events.

• Developing academic resources related to industry practices and public policy.

• Contributing to meetings, educational initiatives and training requirements of the industry.

• Proactively identifying advisory and consultancy opportunities through appropriate agencies.

• Ensuring timely delivery of:

  • Assignments

Qualifications & Candidate Profile

Candidates should possess any of the following qualifications:

• Ph.D.

• MBA

• CA

• CFA

• CAIA

• Master's Degree or higher qualification in Economics or Public Policy

Applicants should have a reputed institutional background and relevant professional experience in sectoral policies.

Preferred Experience

The ideal candidate should have:

• Strong knowledge of regulations in the precious metals industry

• Demonstrated experience in policy-related work connected with the precious metals sector

• Experience engaging with industry stakeholders and regulators

• Strong understanding of the gold market and its ecosystem

• Ability to develop research and policy initiatives

• Strong stakeholder-management and communication skills

Minimum Work Experience: 18 Years in industry and/or research.
