The Indian Institute of Information Technology Kalyani (IIIT Kalyani) invites applications from eligible Indian nationals for one Post Doctoral Fellow position under the Visvesvaraya PhD Scheme for Electronics and IT: Phase II, implemented under MeitY, Government of India.

About the Fellowship

The Visvesvaraya Post Doctoral Fellowship (PDF) is intended for candidates with a PhD in research areas related to:

• Electronic System Design and Manufacturing (ESDM)

• Information Technology / IT-enabled Services (IT/ITES)

The fellowship will be awarded to one candidate for one year.

Fellowship & Research Support

The selected candidate will receive:

Monthly Fellowship: INR 1,08,393

Research Contingency: INR 1 lakh per year

The research contingency may be used for purposes such as attending conferences and other research-related activities.

Eligibility Criteria

Candidates must meet the following requirements:

1. Should have a proven academic record, including peer-reviewed publications and recognitions.

2. Candidates currently in regular employment will not be considered. However, scientists or researchers holding temporary positions in academic or research institutions may be considered, subject to relinquishing their current roles if selected.

3. The PDF applicant must have obtained a PhD degree from a recognized university with first class in all preceding terms of grades, etc., and a good academic record throughout.

4. The applicant should have completed the PhD within the past 5 years as on the last date of submission of the application.

5. Applicants should not have completed their PhD from IIIT Kalyani.

6. Upper age limit: Below 40 years as on the date of submission of the application.

7. Preference will be given to applicants who have active industry linkages and whose research proposal is directed towards industry-specific problems.

Research Areas

Applicants should have a PhD with research interests aligned with the broad domains of:

Electronic System Design and Manufacturing (ESDM) and Information Technology / IT-enabled Services (IT/ITES).

Nature of Appointment

The fellowship is offered for a period of one year under the Visvesvaraya PhD Scheme for Electronics and IT: Phase II.

Only one Post Doctoral Fellow will be selected.
