Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) has invited applications from eligible retired professionals for the engagement of Senior Consultants in its Construction and Maintenance Division. The appointments will be made on a full-time, purely contractual basis.

Position Details

The final remuneration will be determined by the Selection Committee.

Eligibility for Civil Engineering

Candidates must possess:

• B.Tech. or B.E. in Civil Engineering.

• Extensive professional experience in the relevant field.

• Experience in handling civil engineering works and project execution.

Eligibility is restricted to retired officers who held the position of Executive Engineer or above in Central Government, State Government, public sector undertakings or autonomous bodies.

Eligibility for Electrical Engineering

Candidates must possess:

• B.Tech. or B.E. in Electrical Engineering.

• Extensive professional experience in the relevant field.

• Experience in handling electrical engineering works and project execution.

Eligibility is restricted to retired officers who held the position of Executive Engineer or above in Central Government, State Government, public sector undertakings or autonomous bodies.

Duration of Engagement

The initial appointment will be for six months and may be extended based on performance.

The maximum engagement period will be:

• Up to two years; or

• Until the consultant reaches 70 years of age,

whichever occurs earlier.

The university may discontinue the engagement at any time without assigning a reason.

Selection Process

IGNOU reserves the right to shortlist candidates for the interview. Merely meeting the prescribed qualifications and experience requirements does not guarantee an interview call.

No travelling or daily allowance will be paid for attending the interview.
