Established by the Reserve Bank of India in 1996, the Institute for Development and Research in Banking Technology (IDRBT) serves as the premier research and development institution driving technology adoption across the Indian BFSI sector. IDRBT architected foundational national financial infrastructures—including INFINET, National Financial Switch (NFS), SFMS, NEFT, and RTGS—and operates as a licensed Certifying Authority under MeitY.

Preferred Areas of Specialization

Applicants may indicate up to three (3) areas of focus:

• 🔹 Artificial Intelligence & Data Analytics: Frontier AI models, emerging analytics frameworks.

• 🔹 Trustworthy AI: Responsible, explainable, and interpretable AI models.

• 🔹 Cryptography: Post-Quantum Cryptography.

• 🔹 Distributed Ledger Technology: Programmable & Layered Blockchain, Zero-Knowledge Proofs (ZKP).

• 🔹 Cybersecurity: Information Security and Cyber Defense architectures.

• 🔹 System Architecture: Next-Generation Service Delivery Architectures for financial systems.

Pay Scales & Level of Recruitment (7th CPC)

Eligibility Criteria

• Educational Qualifications: Ph.D. in a relevant discipline with First Class (or equivalent) in the preceding degree and a consistently strong academic record.

• Age Limit: Candidates should be below 35 years of age.

• Focus: Keen commitment to applied R&D in Banking and Financial Technology.

• Note for Industry Candidates: Ph.D. student supervision and teaching criteria may be relaxed for individuals joining directly from industry.
