The Division of Genetics, ICAR-Indian Agricultural Research Institute (IARI), New Delhi invites eligible candidates for a walk-in interview for the positions of Project Associate-I and Field Worker under a DBT-funded research project. The positions are temporary and co-terminus with the project.

About the Project

Project Title:
“Mapping and mobilization of leaf rust resistance genes from Indian landraces to broaden the genetic base for improvement of wheat varieties”

The project is funded by the Department of Biotechnology (DBT).

1. Project Associate-I

Number of Posts: 01

Essential Qualification

Candidates should possess:

• Master’s degree in Genetics / Plant Breeding / Genetics and Plant Breeding / Biotechnology with a 4/5-year bachelor’s degree.

• Candidates having a 3-year bachelor’s degree must have qualified NET, including National Eligibility Tests such as CSIR-UGC NET including Lectureship/Assistant Professorship, or GATE, or another national-level examination conducted by Central Government departments/agencies/institutions.

OR

• Master’s degree in Natural or Agricultural Sciences / MVSc, or a bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Technology or Medicine from a recognized university or equivalent, as per the provision mentioned in the notice.

Desirable Qualification

• Experience in molecular markers

• Field phenotyping

• Handling of field crops

Monthly Emoluments

INR 31,000 + HRA for candidates selected through:

• National Eligibility Tests such as CSIR-UGC NET, including Lectureship/Assistant Professorship

• GATE

• National-level examinations conducted by Central Government departments/agencies/institutions

OR

INR 25,000 + HRA for candidates who do not fall under the above category.

2. Field Worker

Number of Posts: 01

Essential Qualification

• Graduate degree in any discipline

Desirable Qualification

• Knowledge of working in laboratory, field and glasshouse

Monthly Emoluments

INR 18,000 + HRA per month

Nature of Appointment

The positions are:

• Unreserved

• Purely temporary

• Co-terminus with the DBT-funded project
