Overview of Role

The Division of Genetics, ICAR-Indian Agricultural Research Institute (IARI), New Delhi invites eligible candidates for a Walk-in Interview for four Senior Research Fellow (SRF) positions under ICAR-funded projects of the National Mission on High Yielding Seeds.

The positions are unreserved, purely temporary and co-terminus with the respective projects, with opportunities available under research projects focusing on Lentil and Mungbean.

Key Responsibilities & Teaching Scope

1. Senior Research Fellow – Lentil Project

• Project: National Mission on High Yielding Seeds – Lentil (12-289G)

• Number of Positions: 02

• Contribute to research activities related to genetics, plant breeding and crop improvement.

• Support molecular breeding, biotechnology and associated laboratory/research activities.

• Assist with research data management, analysis and computer-based project work.

2. Senior Research Fellow – Mungbean Project

• Project: National Mission on High Yielding Seeds – Mungbean (12-289H)

• Number of Positions: 02

• Participate in genetics and plant breeding research related to Mungbean.

• Support molecular breeding, biotechnology and crop-improvement activities.

• Contribute to project documentation, research analysis and related technical activities.

Qualifications & Candidate Profile

• Required Education: Master's Degree in Genetics / Plant Breeding / Genetics and Plant Breeding / Biotechnology with a 4/5-year Bachelor's degree.

• Candidates holding a 3-year Bachelor's degree must have UGC/CSIR/ICAR-NET or equivalent qualification, or a Ph.D. in one of the relevant disciplines, as prescribed under ICAR guidelines.

• Experience & Specializations: Experience in Molecular Breeding, Plant Breeding, Biotechnology and proficiency in computer applications is desirable.

• Certifications / Licensure: UGC/CSIR/ICAR-NET or equivalent is required for candidates falling under the applicable 3-year Bachelor's degree category.

Remuneration & Benefits

• 1st & 2nd Year: INR 37,000 + HRA per month.

• 3rd Year: INR 42,000 + HRA per month.

• HRA and fellowship will be governed by applicable ICAR norms.

• The appointments are purely temporary and will remain co-terminus with the respective projects.
