The ICAR–Indian Agricultural Research Institute (IARI), New Delhi invites eligible candidates for a walk-in interview for 02 Senior Research Fellow (SRF) and 01 Young Professional-I (YP-I) positions in the Division of Genetics. The appointments are purely contractual under the National Mission on High Yielding Seeds (NMHYS) in Pigeonpea project.

The positions are available under the project:

“National Mission on High Yielding Seeds – Pigeonpea (12-289F)”

The selected candidates will contribute to research activities in areas including genetics, plant breeding, biotechnology, molecular breeding, crop improvement, and pigeonpea research.

1. Senior Research Fellow (SRF)

Number of Posts: 02

Fellowship

• 1st & 2nd Year: INR 37,000 per month + HRA

• 3rd Year: INR 42,000 per month + HRA

HRA will be provided as applicable under ICAR norms.

Essential Qualifications

Candidates should possess a Master's degree in:

• Genetics

• Plant Breeding

• Genetics and Plant Breeding

• Biotechnology

with a 4/5-year Bachelor's degree.

Candidates having a 3-year Bachelor's degree should possess:

• UGC/CSIR/ICAR NET qualification

OR

• Equivalent qualification

OR

• Ph.D. in one of the relevant disciplines as prescribed under ICAR guidelines.

Desirable Qualifications

Preference will be given to candidates having experience in:

• Molecular Breeding

• Molecular markers

• Biotechnology

• Plant breeding

• Pigeonpea / crop improvement research

2. Young Professional-I (YP-I)

Number of Posts: 01

Emoluments

INR 30,000 per month (fixed)

HRA: Not admissible.

Essential Qualifications

Candidates should possess:

• Graduation degree in Agricultural Science

OR

• Diploma in Agricultural Sciences / Life Sciences and equivalent

as per ICAR rules from a recognized university.

Desirable Qualifications / Skills

Preference will be given to candidates with:

• Working knowledge of computers

• MS Office skills

• Hands-on experience with molecular markers

• Experience in emasculation and pollination work

• Relevant agricultural or plant breeding research experience

Candidates appearing for the walk-in interview should bring:

• Duly filled and signed prescribed application form

• Original educational certificates

• Original experience certificates, if applicable

• Other relevant documents

• One set of self-attested photocopies of all supporting documents

Candidates should ensure that all documents are complete and accurate.

Selection will be conducted through a walk-in interview.
