About the Special Issue
The European Journal of Information Systems invites submissions for its Special Issue titled "The Future of Creating and Distributing Value in Digital Health Ecosystems."
The Special Issue explores how digital technologies—including artificial intelligence (AI), sensor-based technologies, smartphone applications, and data-driven healthcare platforms—are transforming healthcare delivery beyond traditional hospital settings into collaborative digital health ecosystems. As patients, healthcare providers, caregivers, policymakers, and technology developers increasingly interact through these ecosystems, understanding how digital technologies create, distribute, and sustain value has become a critical research priority.
The issue seeks contributions that examine not only how digital innovations generate value but also how that value is fairly distributed among ecosystem participants. It also welcomes contrarian perspectives that challenge dominant assumptions surrounding digital health, data governance, and technology-enabled healthcare.
