The Central University of South Bihar (CUSB), Gaya invites applications from eligible Indian nationals for 03 temporary project positions under a Department of Biotechnology (DBT), Government of India-funded project being implemented in the Department of Bioinformatics.

Position Overview

Project Title

“Establishment of Bioinformatics Center in Central University of South Bihar under DBT BTISNet”

The project will be implemented at the Department of Bioinformatics, Central University of South Bihar for a period of three years.

Appointments will initially be made up to 07 July 2027 and may be extended further depending on annual performance and availability of funds. All positions are co-terminus with the project.

1. Research Associate-I

Position Details

• Vacancy: 01

• Monthly Emoluments: INR 58,000 + 9% HRA

Essential Qualification

Applicants should possess:

• Ph.D. in Bioinformatics / Computational Biology

• Good academic record

Desirable Qualification

• At least two research papers in peer-reviewed journals

Job Responsibilities

The selected Research Associate-I will be expected to:

• Organize workshops and training programmes

• Design, conduct, and manage research projects

• Collaborate with research teams

• Support the Principal Investigator in research activities

• Perform other project-related professional responsibilities

2. Project Associate-I

Position Details

• Vacancy: 01

• Monthly Emoluments: INR 31,000 + 9% HRA

Essential Qualification

Candidates should possess:

• M.Sc. / M.Tech. in Bioinformatics

• Minimum 60% marks

• Degree must be from a recognized university

Desirable Qualification

Preference will be given to candidates having:

• Experience in computational analysis of biological data

• Strong commitment towards research

Job Responsibilities

The selected candidate will assist in:

• Organizing workshops and training programmes

• Administrative coordination

• Project documentation

• Supporting the Principal Investigator

• Stakeholder communication

• Ensuring smooth project workflow

• Other related project responsibilities

The selected candidate will also be encouraged to register for a Ph.D. programme, subject to applicable university rules.

3. Scientific Administrative Assistant

Position Details

• Vacancy: 01

• Monthly Emoluments: INR 18,000 + 9% HRA

Essential Qualification

Candidates should possess:

• Graduate degree in a Science discipline

• Minimum 60% marks

• Degree must be from a recognized university

Desirable Qualification

• Practical knowledge of Bioinformatics

Job Responsibilities

Responsibilities will include:

• Laboratory support

• Data management

• Data entry and record maintenance

• Tracking project assets and stock

• General office-related work

• Assistance in research activities

• Supporting the Principal Investigator in project-related tasks

Selection Process

• Candidates will be shortlisted based on merit and project requirements.

• Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted through email.

• Selection will be conducted through an offline interview.

• Candidates already employed must produce an NOC from their present employer at the time of interview.

• Candidates must bring one hard copy of their CV, application form, supporting documents, and all original documents for verification at the interview.

• No TA/DA will be provided for attending the interview or at the time of joining.
