Central University of Punjab, Bathinda invites applications for Project Research Scientist-I (Non-Medical) under an ICMR-funded research project. The recruitment will be conducted through a Walk-in Interview, and the position is offered on a short-term project basis.

Position Overview

Project Title

“Design, Synthesis and Biological Evaluation of Novel Histone Deacetylase-Proteolysis Targeting Chimeras (HDAC-PROTACs) as Therapeutic Agents for Lung and Kidney Cancer”

The project is funded by the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), New Delhi.

Essential Qualification

Candidates should possess:

• B.Pharmacy degree, and

• Master’s degree [M.Pharm./M.S. (Pharm.)] in Medicinal/Pharmaceutical Chemistry.

• Minimum 60% marks.

• Minimum 55% marks for SC/ST/OBC (NCL)/PwD candidates.

• Degree must be from a recognized Indian or foreign university/institute.

• Candidates must have qualified GPAT or another equivalent national-level entrance examination.

Remuneration

INR 56,000 + HRA (10%) per month for the first two years.

A 5% increment in the third year will be provided as per ICMR norms.

Term of Engagement

• Initial appointment will be for one year.

• The appointment may be extended up to the duration of the project and/or remain co-terminus with the research project.

• Extension will depend on satisfactory performance and conduct.

• Overall project duration is 3 years.

The project focuses on:

• Medicinal and pharmaceutical chemistry.

• Design and synthesis of HDAC-PROTACs.

• Biological evaluation of novel therapeutic compounds.

• Targeted protein degradation approaches.

• Development of potential therapeutic agents for lung and kidney cancer.
