The Central University of Andhra Pradesh (CUAP) invites applications from eligible Indian nationals for admission to its PhD Programmes for the I Cycle of the Academic Year 2026-27 (July–December 2026 Session). A total of 17 PhD seats are available across five disciplines.

Reservation of Seats

Reservation for PhD admission will be provided in accordance with Government of India and UGC guidelines.

In addition, 5% reservation for Persons with Disabilities (PwD) will be provided as per Government of India rules. The University will create the required number of supernumerary seats for this purpose.

Eligibility & Admission Criteria

Candidates who have qualified for a fellowship/scholarship through UGC-NET, UGC-CSIR NET, GATE, CEED, or similar national-level examinations are required to:

• Apply through the CUAP PhD Samarth Admission Portal.

• Fulfil the applicable eligibility requirements for the concerned PhD programme.

• Appear directly for the interview as part of the admission process.

Candidates should carefully check the complete official notification for programme-specific eligibility requirements before applying.

Selection Process

The PhD admission process will involve:

1. Online application through the CUAP PhD admission portal.

2. Verification of eligibility and qualifying national-level examination credentials.

3. Shortlisting of eligible applicants.

4. Interview as prescribed by the University.

5. Final selection in accordance with CUAP and applicable UGC admission regulations.
