Overview of Role

Central Connecticut State University invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track Assistant Professor of Finance in its School of Business.

The successful candidate will contribute to undergraduate and graduate teaching, scholarly research, student professional development, university service, and the department’s CFP Board-registered Financial Planning Program.

Key Responsibilities & Teaching Scope

• Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in Finance and Financial Planning.

• Contribute actively to the CFP Board-registered Financial Planning Program.

• Maintain an active program of scholarly research.

• Support student academic and professional development.

• Engage with the broader professional and business community.

• Participate in departmental, School of Business, university, and professional service.

• Contribute to curriculum development and academic initiatives.

Qualifications & Candidate Profile

Required Qualifications:

• Doctoral degree in:

  • Financial Planning

  • Finance

  • Closely related field

• Degree must be from an accredited institution.

• ABD candidates may be considered if doctoral completion is anticipated by June 30, 2027.

• Demonstrated excellence in teaching Finance, Financial Planning, or a closely related discipline at the college or university level.

• Demonstrated record of current and relevant scholarly activity consistent with AACSB Scholarly Academic expectations.

Preferred Qualifications

Preference will be given to candidates with:

• Professional credentials or certifications such as:

  • CFP certification

  • CFA designation

  • J.D.

  • Other recognized Finance or Financial Planning credentials

• Significant professional experience in:

  • Financial Planning

  • Retirement Planning

  • Estate Planning

  • Wealth Management

  • Related Finance areas

• Professional experience at the manager level or above.

• Evidence of continuing scholarly activity in Financial Planning or a related field.

Candidates holding a doctorate or terminal degree plus at least 5 years of full-time service at the Assistant Professor level or above may potentially be considered for appointment at the Associate Professor rank.

Remuneration & Benefits

The stated salary range for the 2027–2028 academic year is approximately:

INR 78.13 lakh – INR 1.04 crore annually
