Position Overview

About the Project

The position is available under a multi-institutional project titled:

“Niche modeling and exploration of genetic worth of major bamboos for enhanced productivity in pulp and paper industry”

The project will be carried out at the Department of Forest Biology & Tree Improvement, College of Horticulture & Forestry, CAU (I), Pasighat, Arunachal Pradesh.

Essential Qualification

Candidates should possess a Master’s degree in any of the following areas:

• Forestry (Forest Biology & Tree Improvement, Forest Products & Utilization, or Genetics & Plant Breeding)

• Plant/Forest Biotechnology

The degree should be from a recognized university.

Age Limit

Maximum Age: Below 35 years as on the date of interview.

Age relaxation will be applicable as per Government of India norms.

Desirable Experience

Preference will be given to candidates with experience in:

• Forest Genetics / Tree Improvement / Biotechnology

• Bamboo or germplasm survey and collection

• Vegetative propagation and nursery techniques

• Molecular marker analysis

• GIS and Ecological Niche Modelling (MaxEnt/QGIS)

• Soil analysis

• Willingness to travel and stay in difficult terrain/far-off locations for fieldwork and sample collection

Fellowship / Emoluments

INR 31,000 per month + HRA for NET-qualified candidates.

Selection will be conducted through a Walk-in Interview.
