Position Overview

About the Opportunity

The College of Fisheries, Central Agricultural University (CAU) invites eligible candidates to attend a walk-in interview for one Young Professional-I position under the project:

“Establishment of a Live Gene Bank for Endemic Fish Species of Northeast India”

The appointment will be purely contractual and co-terminus with the project.

Essential Qualification

Candidates should possess:

• B.F.Sc. (Bachelor of Fisheries Science)

The qualification will be considered as per the applicable ICAR memorandum / recruitment norms mentioned in the advertisement.

Desirable Qualification

Preference may be given to candidates possessing:

• Postgraduate degree in Fisheries Resource Management

OR

• Postgraduate degree in Aquaculture

Experience Required

Relevant research and field experience in the following areas is desirable:

• Fish Biology

• Water Quality Analysis

• Fisheries Field Research

• Data Analysis

• Aquaculture / Fisheries Research

Project Area

The project broadly focuses on:

• Fisheries Science

• Endemic Fish Species

• Fish Genetic Resources

• Live Gene Bank Development

• Fish Biology

• Aquaculture

• Fisheries Resource Management

• Biodiversity Conservation

• Northeast Indian Fish Resources

Remuneration

The selected Young Professional-I will receive:

INR 30,000 per month (Consolidated)

The remuneration will be governed by applicable ICAR norms.

Appointment Duration

The initial appointment will be for:

6 Months

or until completion of the project, whichever is earlier.

The position is purely temporary, contractual, and co-terminus with the project.

Age Limit

Maximum Age: 35 years

Age relaxation will be applicable as follows:

• SC/ST candidates: 5 years

• Women candidates: 5 years

• OBC candidates: 3 years

Other relaxation provisions will apply as per the latest Government of India rules.
