Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar University (BBAU), Lucknow, has invited eligible candidates to attend a walk-in interview for the position of Project Associate-I / Junior Research Fellow (JRF) in the Department of Environmental Science.

The recruitment is for an Anusandhan National Research Foundation (ANRF), New Delhi-sponsored research project focusing on hydrological mapping of arsenic and fluoride contamination in the Ganga-Gomti Doab region.

Candidates with an M.Sc. degree in Geology, Earth Science, Environmental Science or Life Sciences are eligible to apply.

About the Research Project

Project Title:

Hydrological Mapping of Arsenic and Fluoride in Ganga-Gomti Doab: An Integrated Approach on Co-occurrence, Environmental Dynamism and Sustainable Mitigation Methods

The ANRF-sponsored project focuses on understanding arsenic and fluoride contamination in the Ganga-Gomti Doab region.

The research involves studying the hydrological distribution of these contaminants, their environmental behaviour and potential approaches for sustainable mitigation.

The selected candidate will contribute to research activities associated with the project.

Essential Qualifications

Candidates must have completed an M.Sc. degree in any of the following disciplines:

• Geology

• Earth Science

• Environmental Science

• Life Sciences

Candidates must possess the essential qualifications prescribed in the recruitment notification.

Desirable Qualifications

Preference will be given to candidates having good knowledge, relevant experience or research publications in:

• Analytical techniques used in water analysis.

• Analytical techniques used in sediment analysis.

• Related environmental research methodologies.

Candidates with practical experience in relevant analytical or laboratory techniques may be particularly suited to the project.

Fellowship / Monthly Remuneration

The fellowship will depend on the candidate's eligibility.

Appointment Duration

The appointment is initially for one year.

It may be extended for another two years (1+1) or until completion of the project, whichever is earlier.

Extensions will depend on satisfactory performance and applicable project conditions.

The position is purely temporary and co-terminus with the research project.

The age limit will be applicable as per ANRF guidelines.
