Management in Emerging, Developing, and Transition Economies: Context, Mechanisms, and Outcomes
Journal: Baltic Journal of Management
Publisher: Emerald Publishing
Submission Deadline: 1 April 2027
The Baltic Journal of Management invites submissions for a Special Issue examining how management, leadership, governance, entrepreneurship, sustainability, finance, and organizational practices operate within emerging, developing, and transition economies.
About the Special Issue
Emerging, developing, and transition economies represent an increasingly important share of global economic activity, yet much of contemporary management and leadership theory continues to originate from Western institutional settings.
This Special Issue places context at the centre of management research, examining how organizations operate where formal institutions, market infrastructures, and governance arrangements may be incomplete, evolving, or unevenly enforced.
The issue welcomes research investigating how firms and organizations respond through alternative governance mechanisms, relational networks, informal institutions, improvisation, bricolage, and context-specific management practices.
Comparative research spanning Eastern and Southern Europe, Asia, Latin America and the Caribbean, Africa, and other emerging or transition economies is particularly encouraged.
