Position Overview

Project Title

“Development of a Library of AIML IP Cores”

The project is funded by DRDO and focuses on developing a library of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning (AIML) algorithm IP cores in hardware.

About the Position

BITS Pilani Goa Campus invites applications for one Research Fellow position under the DRDO-funded project.

The position is specifically intended for Ph.D. aspirants. Applicants should ensure that they satisfy the eligibility and qualification requirements of the BITS Pilani Ph.D. programme.

Essential Qualification

Candidates should possess a Graduate or Postgraduate Degree in one of the following or an equivalent discipline from a recognized university:

• Electronics

• Communication Engineering

• Instrumentation

• Computer Science

• Electrical and Electronics Engineering (EEE)

• Related disciplines

Desirable Qualifications

Preference will be given to candidates with:

• Strong background in Digital Design

• Knowledge of Hardware Description Languages

• Understanding of digital hardware systems

• Knowledge of FPGA-based system design

Experience with FPGA-based system development will be an added advantage.

Scope of Work

The selected Research Fellow will contribute to the development of a hardware IP-core library for AIML algorithms.

The research may involve:

• Digital hardware design

• FPGA-based implementation

• Hardware acceleration of AIML algorithms

• IP core development

• Hardware/software co-development

• Testing and validation of digital systems

Fellowship

The fellowship will range from:

INR 37,000 to INR 42,000 per month + HRA

The applicable amount will depend on the year of Ph.D. and performance, as per applicable norms.

Duration

The fellowship duration will be governed by BITS Pilani Ph.D. programme norms.

The position is intended for candidates planning to pursue a Ph.D. at BITS Pilani.
