Birla Institute of Technology and Science (BITS) Pilani offers the Assistant Professor – Academic Level 12 position with an entry basic pay of INR 1,01,500 per month, along with Dearness Allowance, professional development support, research seed funding, relocation benefits, provident fund, gratuity, and medical coverage.

60% of Basic Pay, normally aligned with Central Government announcements.

Annual Increment

3% as per the Pay Matrix

Professional Development Allowance

Faculty members are eligible for:

INR 3 lakh for a block of 3 years

This is provided under the Professional Development Allowance (PDA).

New Faculty Seed Grant

Under the New Faculty Seed Grant (NFSG):

Maximum Cap: INR 20 lakh

Relocation Allowance

Reimbursement towards baggage shifting and travelling expenses for the faculty member and family is provided up to:

• INR 50,000 for relocation within India

• INR 1 lakh for joining from abroad

Contributory Provident Fund

Employee and employer contributions are:

12% of Basic Pay + DA per month

Gratuity

Gratuity benefits are provided as per the:

Payment of Gratuity Act, 1972

Medical Coverage

Medical expenses are reimbursed up to 90% of expenses incurred, subject to the BITS Medical Policy.

The coverage may also include dependent parents, as specified under the policy.
