Position Overview

Project Title

“Development of Process for Realization of Seamless Ultra-thin Wall Round Tubes”

The selected JRF will work on an ISRO-sponsored research project involving advanced manufacturing, finite element simulation, tooling development, and metal-forming processes.

Essential Qualification

Candidates should possess:

• M.Tech./M.E. in:

  • Manufacturing Engineering

  • Production Engineering

  • CAD-CAM

  • Design Engineering

  • Relevant/equivalent disciplines

Desirable: GATE/NET qualification.

Preferred Skills & Experience

Candidates with knowledge or experience in the following areas will be preferred:

• CAD modelling

• Finite Element (FE) simulation

• Tooling design and development

• Metal forming

• Manufacturing processes

• Experimental research

• Hands-on engineering work

Job Description

The selected candidate will contribute to research involving:

• CAD-based modelling and design

• Finite element simulations

• Development of manufacturing tooling

• Metal-forming process development

• Experimental investigation and validation

• Development of seamless ultra-thin wall round tubes

Candidates with a strong aptitude for experimental research and hands-on work will be preferred.

Fellowship

The selected Junior Research Fellow will receive:

INR 37,000 per month + 30% HRA

Project Duration

The project tenure is:

2 Years

The appointment is temporary and linked to the sponsored research project.

Age Limit

Maximum Age: 30 years as on the date of interview.

Age relaxation of up to 5 years is applicable for eligible:

• SC

• ST

• PH

• OBC

• Women candidates

PhD Opportunity

The selected candidate may be permitted to register for the Ph.D. programme at BITS Pilani, subject to fulfilling the institute’s Ph.D. qualification and admission requirements.
