BITS Pilani, K. K. Birla Goa Campus invites applications for 02 Research Fellow positions exclusively for PhD aspirants under a DRDO-funded research project focused on developing a library of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning (AI/ML) IP cores in hardware and software.

Position Overview

Project Title

“Development of a Library of AI/ML IP Cores”

The project is funded by DRDO and aims to develop a comprehensive library of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning algorithm IP cores for implementation in both:

• Hardware

• Software

The selected Research Fellows will work on advanced digital-system design and AI/ML hardware development while pursuing their PhD at BITS Pilani.

Essential Qualifications

Candidates should possess a Graduate or Postgraduate Degree in any of the following or an equivalent discipline:

• Electronics

• Communication Engineering

• Instrumentation

• Computer Science

• Electrical & Electronics Engineering (EEE)

• Related / equivalent discipline

The degree should be obtained from a recognized University / Institution.

Important: These positions are applicable only to PhD aspirants. Candidates must satisfy the eligibility and admission requirements of the BITS Pilani PhD programme.

Desirable Qualifications

Preference will be given to candidates with:

• Strong background in Digital Design

• Knowledge of Hardware Description Languages (HDL)

• Experience or knowledge of FPGA-based system design

FPGA development experience will be considered an added advantage.

Scope of Work

The selected candidates will contribute to:

• Development of AI/ML algorithm IP cores

• Hardware implementation of AI/ML algorithms

• Software development

• Digital system design

• FPGA-based prototyping and implementation

• Hardware-software integration

• Research and development associated with the DRDO project

Fellowship

The selected Research Fellows will receive:

INR 37,000 – 42,000 per month + HRA

The exact fellowship will depend on:

• Year of PhD

• Performance of the candidate

Duration

The duration of the Research Fellowship / PhD engagement will be governed by the applicable BITS Pilani doctoral programme norms.

The positions are specifically intended for candidates aspiring to pursue a PhD at BITS Pilani.
