Simultaneous Multiple Gene Detection
Journal: BioTechniques
Publisher: Taylor & Francis Group
Article Collection
Manuscript Submission Deadline: 30 November 2026
Open Access: This Article Collection will be published Open Access.
BioTechniques invites original and review contributions for an Article Collection focused on advances in the simultaneous detection and quantification of multiple genes, including multiplex and high-throughput molecular detection technologies for clinical and environmental applications.
About the Article Collection
Molecular biology techniques such as polymerase chain reaction (PCR), quantitative PCR (qPCR), digital PCR (dPCR), and loop-mediated isothermal amplification (LAMP) provide sensitive and specific approaches for detecting genes at low concentrations. These techniques have become increasingly important in areas such as clinical diagnostics, wastewater surveillance, public health, and environmental monitoring.
When multiple genetic targets must be analyzed, performing separate single-target assays can be time-consuming and labor-intensive. Advances in multiplex qPCR, multiplex dPCR, and high-throughput qPCR platforms now enable simultaneous analysis of multiple targets. This Article Collection seeks research addressing the methodological challenges of multiplex detection while presenting new assays, technologies, and applications that improve the efficiency, accuracy, and reliability of multi-gene analysis.
