Journal: Big Earth Data
Publisher: Taylor & Francis Group
Article Collection
Manuscript Submission Deadline: 31 December 2026
Open Access: This Article Collection will be published Open Access.
Big Earth Data invites submissions for an Article Collection focused on open data, innovative software, and advanced computational approaches for supporting the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
About the Article Collection
Big Earth Data plays an increasingly important role in sustainability research by supporting environmental monitoring, quantitative assessment, early-warning systems, and evidence-based decision-making. Integrating Earth observation data with socio-economic information and long-term environmental records can provide valuable insights into challenges related to Zero Hunger, Sustainable Cities and Communities, Climate Action, Life on Land, and other SDGs.
However, progress is constrained by fragmented data sources, inconsistent standards, limited data-sharing mechanisms, challenges in multi-source data fusion, insufficient adaptability of intelligent algorithms, and a lack of standardized assessment workflows. This Article Collection seeks innovative and reproducible datasets, algorithms, models, and software tools capable of addressing these challenges and advancing sustainable development research and applications.
