Essential Qualifications

Candidates should possess:

• A Master’s degree in Political Science, Economics, Sociology or an allied discipline from a recognized university.

• Minimum 55% marks or equivalent grade in the Master's degree.

• NET / SET qualification, as applicable.

Candidates possessing a Ph.D. may be eligible for exemption from NET requirements as per applicable regulations.

The required qualifications will be governed by relevant UGC / BCI guidelines. (Amrita University)

Teaching & Academic Responsibilities

The selected Assistant Professor will be expected to:

• Teach Social Science subjects such as:

  • Sociology

  • Economics

  • Political Science

• Teach these subjects in relation to law and interdisciplinary studies.

• Conduct academic research.

• Mentor and guide students.

• Develop and update course content and syllabi.

• Contribute to academic and departmental development. (Amrita University)

Key Responsibilities

The role includes:

• Teaching undergraduate and postgraduate courses.

• Developing and updating course syllabi in line with contemporary research.

• Conducting research and contributing to academic publications.

• Presenting research at conferences and academic events.

• Mentoring students in academic and research activities.

• Designing and evaluating assignments and examinations.

• Providing constructive academic feedback to students.

• Participating in departmental meetings and academic committees.

• Contributing to curriculum and programme development.

• Participating in workshops, seminars and conferences for professional development. (Amrita University)
