The Role of AI in Sustainability in Tourism and Hospitality
Journal: Anatolia
Publisher: Taylor & Francis Group
Special Issue
Manuscript Submission Deadline: 1 December 2026
Anatolia invites submissions for a Special Issue examining the growing role of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in advancing sustainability, resilience, competitiveness, and responsible transformation across tourism and hospitality.
About the Special Issue
Artificial intelligence is increasingly influencing how tourism and hospitality organizations manage resources, personalize customer experiences, forecast demand, respond to crises, and pursue environmental and social sustainability. AI-enabled technologies may offer new opportunities to reduce resource consumption, improve operational efficiency, strengthen resilience, and support more responsible tourism practices.
Despite this potential, empirical research specifically examining the intersection of AI and sustainability in tourism and hospitality remains limited. This Special Issue seeks multidisciplinary research that investigates how AI can contribute to sustainable operations, destination management, consumer behaviour, environmental management, business resilience, and the transformation of traditional tourism and hospitality business models.
