The Role of AI in Sustainability in Tourism and Hospitality
Journal: Anatolia
Publisher: Taylor & Francis Group
Special Issue
Manuscript Submission Deadline: 1 December 2026
Anatolia invites submissions for a Special Issue examining how Artificial Intelligence (AI) can contribute to sustainability, resilience, and responsible innovation in tourism and hospitality. The issue seeks multidisciplinary research addressing AI's impact across consumers, businesses, NGOs, destinations, and wider tourism ecosystems.
About the Special Issue
Tourism and hospitality organizations face growing environmental pressures, volatile demand, changing customer expectations, supply-chain disruptions, and increasing requirements to operate sustainably. AI offers opportunities to optimize resources, forecast demand, personalize services, improve crisis response, and support more efficient and responsible business models.
At the same time, important questions remain about whether investments in AI translate into measurable environmental, social, operational, and financial benefits. This Special Issue seeks to strengthen the empirical and theoretical evidence on how AI can support sustainability while examining challenges involving governance, fairness, regulation, implementation, and long-term resilience.
